Emmenbrücke might not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of staying near Lucerne, but honestly, it works really well. You’re about 10 minutes by train to Lucerne’s old town, and the trains run frequently — I never felt stuck out here. What’s actually great is that you get a more authentic feel for how locals live, away from all the tourist crowds. Plus, there’s a Migros nearby for groceries, which became my go-to spot for breakfast supplies and snacks. The accessibility is excellent.

Practical Perks

The free private parking on site is honestly a game-changer if you’re driving around Switzerland. I can’t tell you how much of a relief it was not to worry about finding a spot or feeding meters all day. The building is secure, and you get your own access codes, so there’s no awkward check-in process or waiting around for someone to let you in. The WiFi actually works well too — I was able to work from the dining table without any issues. These amenities truly enhance your stay.
